What:  2 Las Vegas Headliners Coming to the Gilmer Civic Center!

World-famous Elvis tribute artist Travis Powell and Toby Keith tribute artist DeWayne Terry will bring two icons of American music to life on stage March 29th, 4:00 pm at the Gilmer Civic Center!
Backed by the nationally recognized tribute band Edge of Reality, the show promises an evening where country meets rock ’n’ roll in a high-energy celebration of two legends.
Powell, who has been performing as Elvis for more than 15 years, said his passion comes from the way audiences light up when they hear Presley’s music performed live.
“I love to make people happy with the music of Elvis,” Powell said. “That’s why I started this, and that’s why I still do it.”
Powell’s commitment to keeping Presley’s music alive is part of what makes him such a draw, promoter Steve Fountain said.
“Fifteen years is a long time to carry a tribute,” Fountain said. “Travis does it because he loves it, and audiences can feel that.”
The Elvis tribute artist has earned a reputation around the world for his uncanny vocals and stage presence. He has performed in major venues, and at tribute festivals and fan conventions, often leaving audiences feeling as though they have stepped back in time. Powell said Gilmer area fans can expect more than just impersonation.

“It’s about capturing Elvis’ spirit,” he said. “The voice, the look, yes — but most importantly, it’s the feeling he gave people.”
Recently Travis Powell has been selected as a major headliner in Las Vegas at the historic Westgate Resort Hotel. His first appearance he performed for 4,000 fans!
Terry will provide the opening act performing a tribute to late country superstar Toby Keith. Known for his powerful renditions of hits like “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” and “Beer for My Horses,” Terry said he’s excited to bring Keith’s music to the Gilmer Civic Center again.
“Toby Keith’s songs are anthems for so many people,” Terry said. “They’re about pride, hard work and good times — and audiences really connect with that.”
Terry, who has been performing Keith’s catalog for years, said what makes tribute shows special is how they let fans relive memories tied to the music.
“When you look out and see people singing every word, smiling, or even tearing up — that’s when you know the music has done its job,” he said.
The Gilmer Civic Center, which has hosted tribute performances before, is anticipating strong interest in this show.
“We have had Elvis performances in the past and they always do well,” said Steve Fountain, promoter for this concert. “This time, pairing Elvis with Toby Keith adds a fresh twist that we think our audiences are really going to enjoy.”

“You don’t often get the chance to see Elvis and Toby Keith celebrated in the same night,” Fountain said. “That mix of rock ’n’ roll and country really widens

the appeal.”

Fountain said his mission is to bring high-quality entertainment to the community in an intimate setting where every seat feels close to the stage. Tribute acts like Powell and Terry help fulfill that goal by giving fans a chance to experience the power of legendary music, even decades after the songs were first recorded.
The band Edge of Reality will provide live backing for both Powell and Terry. Known as one of the country’s top tribute bands, Edge of Reality brings professional-level musicianship and energy to every performance.
Powell said working with Edge of Reality elevates his performances.
“They’re incredible musicians,” Powell said. “They know the music inside and out, and they bring so much energy to the stage. It makes every show unforgettable.”
For Terry, playing with the band is about authenticity.
“Tributes only work if the music feels right,” Terry said. “Edge of Reality nails it every time.”
With two headliners, a powerhouse band, and a mix of country and rock classics, the March 29th concert aims to appeal to a wide audience.
“Whether you grew up with Elvis or you blast Toby Keith in your truck, this show is going to speak to you,” Terry said. “It’s a chance to celebrate the songs you love, live and loud.”
