The event also created a meaningful fundraising opportunity for local Scouting programs. The Caddo Area Council Boy Scouts of America managed the VIP parking operation through a revenue-sharing partnership with the airshow and received a check for $15,809, representing half of the proceeds from VIP parking.
“Bringing the airshow back was always about more than putting airplanes in the sky,” said Brandon Sanders, airshow organizer and director of aviation technology for Texarkana College. “We wanted to create something that celebrated our community, supported local organizations, and reminded people what’s possible when Texarkana comes together.”
Organizers credited the event’s success to the support of sponsors, community partners, public safety agencies, airport staff, volunteers and Texarkana College students, whose efforts helped bring the airshow back to Texarkana after more than three decades.
“The response exceeded anything we could have imagined,” Sanders said. “Whether someone bought a ticket, volunteered, sponsored the event or simply came out to enjoy the day, they helped make history. We’re incredibly grateful for the support this community showed.”
Organizers say planning is already underway to evaluate this year’s event and build on its success for the next event, slated for 2028.
