UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center Pioneers World’s First Clinical  Application of Lumin Fitness for Rehabilitation

Dallas, TX – December 1, 2025 – Lumin Fitness, the leader in responsive, AI-infused training  environments, announced a groundbreaking partnership with the UT Health East Texas  Rehabilitation Center in Tyler, Texas. The innovative collaboration brings the immersive training  technology of Lumin Fitness into a clinical setting for the first time anywhere in the world.

UT Health East Texas’ physical therapy team is integrating Lumin’s adaptive training platform —  including real-time EMG (electromyography) muscle-activation tracking — into patient  rehabilitation programs. The result is a data-rich, highly interactive experience that is enhancing  patient engagement and helping clinicians improve outcomes.

“Applying our technology to a clinical environment marks a major evolution for Lumin Fitness,”  said Omeed Shams, CEO of Lumin Fitness. “Partnering with UT Health East Texas allows us  to demonstrate how smart, responsive training can augment therapist time while elevating the  quality and consistency of rehab for patients.”

UT Health’s physical therapy team is using Lumin’s multisensory training technology to deliver  precision-guided movement sessions that automatically adapt to each patient’s ability. With  integrated EMG, clinicians can visualize muscle activation in real time, allowing them to tailor  exercises, identify compensation patterns, and quantify improvement with a level of accuracy  previously difficult to achieve in traditional outpatient settings.

“Lumin is transforming our clinic,” said Suzanne Castles, a senior physical therapist at UT  Health East Texas. “Patients are not only progressing more effectively, they are more  motivated. The interactive environment keeps them engaged, and the objective data helps us  monitor load, symmetry, and activation in a way that enhances both safety and performance.”

Beyond improving clinical insights, Lumin is also helping increase patient throughput. By guiding  patients through individualized programming and providing immediate feedback on movement  quality, the platform enables PTs to extend their reach, freeing time for manual therapy and  evaluation while maintaining a high standard of care.

Patient response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many reporting that the interactive  nature of the sessions makes rehab feel like a dynamic and fun challenge.

Coordinated by Rehab Pro as a distribution partner, the UT Health East Texas project  establishes a powerful new model for how technology can elevate the rehabilitation experience,  and it marks the beginning of Lumin’s clinical collaborations across sports medicine,  orthopedics, and neurological recovery.
