Longview Community Ministries Announces: Coats for Kids
LONGVIEW – Longview Community Ministries announces its Coast for Kids, free coat event to be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 9am-1pm at the Beacon Center, Longview.
Longview Community Ministries presents COATS FOR KIDS, 2022. This event will be held on November 12th from 9am-1pm at Beacon Center, 1115 S. Mobberly Ave, Longview. Coats for Kids provides warm coats for school age children. The event will be in person this year and Each family can come pick out a coat for every child in the family. This year, the children will be greeted by area Cheerleaders, LETU baseball players, the Chick-fil-a Cow and Happy the Clown. Vision and Dental screenings will also be available as well as face painting!

Donations of new and gently used coats can be made to the following dry cleaners: Alpine Cleaners, Dry Clean Super Center, McLendon Cleaners, Village Cleaners and Service Cleaners.

Longview Community Ministries programs include: The Food Box, the largest food pantry in Longview feeding over 3,100 people more than 21,000 meals monthly; Meals With Love, hot meals delivered to persons daily by volunteers; College Connection, a monthly on site food box distribution to college students in the Longview area, Coats for Kids, a November coat drive, giving the city’s underprivileged children the opportunity to shop for a new coat; Family Crisis Service Center and Learning Lab, trained volunteer caseworkers, supervised by LCM staff, offer compassion to families in crisis, providing food, rental assistance, prescription assistance, transportation assistance, utility assistance and a free dental clinic. LCM’s Learning Lab offers classes in money management, job skills, utility assistance, computer skills, and much more.
