HAWKINS – Jarvis Christian Men’s Basketball Head Coach Christopher Avery announced the 2022-23 schedule Wednesday with a slate that features 10 games at the E.W. Rand Center on campus.

The Bulldogs open the season on November 11 at Dillard University in New Orleans. JCU then travels to Texarkana for the Texarkana Classic where the Bulldogs will face Wiley College and Rust College. JCU then heads south to Thibodaux, Louisiana for an exhibition with NCAA Division I member, Nicholls State.

JCU will head to Odessa, Texas over the Thanksgiving break to play in the UTPB Thanksgiving Classic. The Bulldogs will play Chadron State College and Texas Permian Basin in the event. JCU then heads to Mississippi to face Tougaloo College before conference play starts up.

The Bulldogs open Red River Athletic Conference action on the road at Texas A&M-Texarkana on December 1. JCU plays Huston-Tillotson, Our Lady of the Lake, Texas College, and Southwest before the Christmas break. JCU also hits the road for a pair of exhibitions against Rice and Louisiana Tech.

JCU resumes conference play after the break against Louisiana Christian on January 5. Conference play continues until February 18 when the Bulldogs head to Shreveport for the final conference game of the season. The RRAC Tournament will take place between February 24 and 26 in Alexandria, Louisiana.

“I am excited to start this year,” Avery said. “We have added some pieces to the puzzle that we believe are going to be a big help to the program. We have some guys that come from winning programs and have a winning mindset. We look to make an impact as a collective team through hard work, communication, and preparation. We understand that the road ahead is a tough one, but we feel that the guys we brought in are embracing that challenge. We need the support of students, faculty, and staff to make this year a special one and get back into tournament contention.”
