Pharaohs and Friends

SUNDAY March 13, 2022
“I’m working on a puzzle, But the pieces are a mess
I keep pushing the agenda, Like it were a game of chess
I will tell you stories of pharaohs and friends
Of the ones who live in shadows, You know how this story ends.”
Sofia Talvik, “Pharoahs and Friends”
Welcome back, spring! We’ve so missed this season of warmer weather, bright skies, and intoxicating blooms. In this issue we hear the celebration of spring in the songs of Sofia Talvik, who performs at the Bowery Stage in Winnsboro this week. We also hear the sounds of spring in birdsongs and in festivals around the region that begin this week such as the Dogwood Festival in Palestine.
