BBGB Fundraiser

Gilmer-based “Big Brothers Giving Back,” an organization of men who mentor young boys, will hold a “Flapjack Fundraiser” breakfast Saturday morning, Sept. 12, at Applebee’s Grill and Bar in Longview.
The event at 101 W. Loop 281 is set for 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tickets are $15.
The menu includes pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, and choice of coffee, tea, juice or soft drink.
Tickets are available at the door or by contacting Big Brothers President Kevin Finch at 903-841-8414.
The organization helps youngsters age 10 and older who need “guidance,” possibly lacking a father figure or proper role model, said Finch, the group’s founder.
The Gilmer Area Chamber of Commerce has honored Big Brothers for its work.
