When Disasters Strike, Help Starts Local:
Red Cross Training In Marshall

TYLER, Texas, APRIL 27, 2023 – The American Red Cross East Texas Region is inviting community members to take part in an upcoming Disaster Action Team (DAT) Training in Marshall, designed to prepare volunteers to respond to emergencies and support their neighbors during times of crisis.

“Help can’t wait after a disaster,” said Karen Holt, Executive Director of the American Red Cross East Texas Chapter. “This training gives people the opportunity to step up for their neighbors and be there when it matters most.”

Training Details

Participants will learn how to respond to local emergencies, assist families on their most difficult days, and provide immediate support following disasters.

No prior experience is required — only compassion and a willingness to help others.

The Red Cross encourages anyone interested in making a difference in their community to register because when a home fire or local disaster strikes, families need support right away. Oftentimes, that help comes from trained volunteers who step in to provide care, comfort and immediate relief.
