NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION

To the registered voters of the City of Gilmer, Texas:

Notice is hereby given that the polling place listed below will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on May 2, 2026, for voting in a special election to vote For or Against Proposition 1 Termination of the Gilmer Economic Development Corporation, a Type A economic development sales tax, at the rate of one-half of one percent (0.50%), and adopt a Type B economic development sales tax, at the rate of one-fourth of one percent (0.25%), and the adoption of a local sales and use tax in the City of Gilmer, Texas, at the rate of one and one-fourth of one percent (1.25%).

between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning on April 20, 2026, polls will be closed on Tuesday April 21st, 2026, for San Jacinto Day and open again on Wednesday April 22nd, 2026, and ending on April 28th, 2026; extended hours will be on Monday, April 27th, 2026, and Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Applications for ballot by mail must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 20th, 2026, in the office of Deana Powell, Early Voting Clerk, 110 Buffalo St, Gilmer, Texas 75644.
