Induction ceremony and luncheon set for Friday, April 10, 2026

 

HOUSTON, Texas (March 6, 2026) – The Lone Star Flight Museum (LSFM) is honored to announce the selection of three new inductees into the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame (TAHOF). The TAHOF selection committee has named Bonnie J. Dunbar, John Dyer and Meg Lonero (posthumously), to the Class of 2026.

This esteemed group will be officially inducted on Friday, April 10,at the 2026 Texas Aviation Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and luncheon at the Lone Star Flight Museum located at Houston’s Ellington Airport.

Anna Hawley, president and chief executive officer of the museum, said, “The Class of 2026 is a well-deserving group of amazing aviators. We are honored to have them join the current 100 members of the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, and I invite all of Houston to support these individuals in this amazing achievement.”

ABOUT THE 2026 INDUCTEES:

 

BONNIE J. DUNBAR –NASA astronaut, mechanical and aerospace engineering leader with significant

contributions to design solutions for human space flight, and aviation museum advocate and leader.

 

JOHN DYER – Decorated U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, accomplished flight instructor, and 2024 FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award recipient, recognizing safe flight operations continuously for more than 50 years.

 

MEG LONERO (1938-2015) – Longtime City of Houston airport executive, accomplished pilot, and

aviation industry leader holding management roles at Houston’s Hobby, Ellington, and Bush airports.

 

ABOUT THE TEXAS AVIATION HALL OF FAME

The Texas Aviation Hall of Fame was established in 1995 through a resolution by the 74th Texas Legislature and signed by then Gov. George W. Bush to honor and recognize Texans and Texas companies or organizations that have made significant and lasting contributions to the advancement of aviation. There are currently 100 individuals and groups in the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, in four categories which include trailblazers and explorers, wartime aviators, leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators. The 2024 Texas Aviation Hall of Fame inductees join an impressive list of past inductees representing trailblazers and explorers such as Bessie Coleman and Wiley Post; leaders such as Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush; World War II aviators Tex Hill, the Doolittle Raiders, Tuskegee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots; astronauts Eileen Collins, Joe Engle and Gene Cernan; and entrepreneurs Howard Hughes and Rod Lewis.
