UT Health East Texas Physicians Welcomes Eric Dinnerstein, MD, to Tyler

Tyler, Texas (February 26, 2026) — UT Health East Texas Physicians is expanding neurology services in Tyler with the addition of Eric Dinnerstein, MD.
Dr. Dinnerstein is a cognitive neurologist specializing in dementia and early cognitive decline who also practices general neurology, caring for adults with a wide range of neurological conditions. He led a dementia clinic at MaineHealth near Portland for nearly 20 years and served as principal investigator for numerous dementia clinical studies and trials, including ACCTION, DAYBREAK, CREAD, TRAILBLAZER, IDEAS and ALZ-NET. He also served as neurology clerkship director for the Maine Track at Tufts University School of Medicine and is passionate about educating patients, families, the community and fellow medical professionals about cognitive health.
Inspired by his mother, a nurse, and by witnessing his father’s journey with dementia, Dr. Dinnerstein combines his fascination with the brain’s complexity with a deep commitment to patient-centered care. He believes in shared decision-making and views himself as an adviser, consultant and confidant who partners with patients and their families throughout their journey.
Dr. Dinnerstein is bringing his experience to a talented team of cognitive neurology providers and staff to direct and expand The University of Texas at Tyler Dementia Center. The goal is for the Brain and Mind Center to become a regional and national hub for evaluation, treatment, research, education, outreach and innovation.
