Longview, Texas Airgas Facility Named 2026 National Cylinder Fill Plant of the Year
The Airgas cylinder gas fill plant in Longview, which serves as a vital supply chain hub filling and distributing industrial, specialty and medical cylinder gases across Northeast Texas, has been awarded the 2026 National Cylinder Fill Plant of the Year award. Standing out from a network of more than 400 Airgas plants across the United States and Canada, the Longview facility was chosen as one of only two plants to receive this honor, recognizing high performance in safety culture and operational efficiency.
The Longview team earned the 2026 National Small Plant of the Year title by pairing operational excellence with a deeply ingrained culture of safety. As a vital supply chain hub, the facility achieves a high fulfillment rate, providing essential gases to six branches and neighboring plants. This high-performance standard is driven by a collaborative synergy between veteran and newer associates, who work in lockstep with the sales and branch teams to deliver efficiency and product quality. This award ultimately recognizes that the plant’s success is built upon a foundation of discipline, with more than five years without a recordable injury or driving accident. The team’s commitment to safety and operational precision is the true backbone of their accomplishments.

In July, Airgas’ CEO, Executive Vice President of Operations and senior leaders visited the Longview plant to personally commend the team on their success. The plant was awarded Airgas’ signature three-foot golden cylinder trophy as a permanent monument to their success. Additionally, every member of the local plant team was presented with a personalized, engraved ring to commemorate their dedication to operational safety and excellence.
