NOTICE OF PRE-PLANNING PUBLIC INPUT MEETINGS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE 2031 REGIONAL WATER PLAN

Notice is hereby given that the North East Texas Regional Water Planning Group (Region D) is seeking public input on issues that should be included in the Regional or State Water Plan for the Seventh Cycle of Regional Water Planning. Also, the board will discuss the potential process for conducting interregional coordination regarding water management strategies during development of the 2031 Regional Water Plans including the identification of such strategies and course of action for coordination.
There will be two Public Meetings held on November 4, 2026. The first Public Meeting will be held in conjunction with the upcoming regular Region D Planning Group Meeting, to be held at the Region 8 Education Service Center, 4845 US 271 N, Pittsburg, TX 75686, on November 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The second Public Meeting will be held at the Pilgrim’s Community Center, 820 W. Pecan St., Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455, on November 4, 2026, at 6:00 pm. The public will have an opportunity to provide written and oral comments (not to exceed five (5) minutes per speaker at the meeting) during the Pre-Planning Public Input Meetings. Individuals may also submit written public comments for a period of 30 days prior to this meeting by mailing those comments to Kyle Dooley, Riverbend Water Resources District, 228 Texas Ave., Suite A, New Boston, TX 75570 or by emailing them to Kyle Dooley at kyledooley@rwrd.org.
The North East Texas Regional Water Planning Group (Region D) consists of a nineteen (19) county area that includes all or part of the following counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Delta, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Hopkins, Hunt, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Rains, Red River, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood.
