Walmart Supercenter and Carter BloodCare host October blood drive

Texas has an urgent need to replenish the blood supply to treat local patients.

 

According to nonprofit blood center Carter BloodCare, all blood types are needed this month, including O negative for premature babies and O positive for patients injured in car and truck wrecks.

 

Carter BloodCare donors also help Texans battling cancer; patients with severe burns; expectant mothers with labor complications; and many others.

 

Donor eligibility begins at age 16 with parental consent; anyone 17 and older can donate on their own.

 

As a treat in October, each donor will receive a glow-in-the-dark Halloween T-shirt. This thank-you item is exclusively for Carter BloodCare donors through Oct. 31, while supplies last.
