Kansas City woman arrested, charged with federal violations related to social media threats in the Eastern District of Texas

PLANO, Texas – A Kansas City, Missouri, woman has been arrested and charged with federal violations related to terroristic social media threats in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

 

Sharifa Nicole Henderson, 34, was named in a three-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury on September 9, 2026, charging her with making interstate threatening communications.  Henderson was arrested in Kansas City on September 11, 2026, and made an initial appearance in federal court in the Western District of Texas.

 

According to the indictment, on at least three separate dates in June of 2026, Henderson is alleged to have sent messages through a social media messaging platform and by telephone, threatening to injure or kill members of a crime victim’s family.

 

If convicted, Henderson faces up to five years in federal prison for each charge.

 

This case is part of Operation Take Back America a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

 

This case is being investigated by FBI Dallas, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office with assistance from FBI Kansas City, the U.S. Attorney’s Office – Western District of Missouri and the U.S. Marshals Service.  This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul B. Morris.

 

A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt.  All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
