Peters named Mount Pleasant area engineer

ATLANTA – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) would like to announce that Lacy Peters, P.E., has been appointed the new area engineer in Mount Pleasant.
Effective today, Peters will be responsible for maintenance and construction activities in Titus, Camp, Upshur and Morris counties. Peters had served as the district’s materials and pavement engineer since 2019, where she served as the laboratory supervisor and led efforts in pavement design, forensic investigations and material quality assessments. Peters is actively involved in numerous research initiatives aimed at improving Texas roadways and pavements.
Peters’ career with TxDOT began in 2007 after her graduation from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is a licensed professional engineer in Texas. When Peters is not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Gerard, have two children.
“I look forward to bringing my knowledge in research and pavement investigations into this role at the Mount Pleasant Area Office,” said Peters. It’s a privilege to work with the talented men and women who have the responsibility of building and maintaining our roads and infrastructure in the western portion of our district.”
Peters replaces Wendy Starkes, who retired from TxDOT with more than 28 years of service.
