Hunt County Fatal Crash

Dallas County – On August 22, 2026, at approximately 11:42 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) Highway Patrol (HP) responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash on Interstate Highway (IH) 30 eastbound service road near Farm-to-Market (FM) 513.

 

A preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was riding an electric bicycle on the eastbound service road of IH-30. An unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene due to the injuries sustained during the crash.

 

The pedestrian was identified as Christopher McCool, a 26-year-old male from the Commerce area.
