| The East Texas State Fair is calling all young cowboys and cowgirls to sign up for one of the Fair’s most exciting rodeo traditions — mutton bustin’! Registration is now open and will remain available through Monday, August 24, for children ages 5–7 who weigh 60 pounds or less. Mutton Bustin’ presented by United Heritage Credit Union will take place during each performance of the rodeo, held September 25–27 at 7:30 PM in Herd Arena. Contestants will hold on tight as they ride a sheep out of the chute, aiming to stay on for as long as possible while the crowd cheers them on. Registration does not guarantee participation as children will be chosen at random and notified prior to August 31. Registration can be completed online at www.etstatefair.com/mutton-bustin. A highlight of the 110th East Texas State Fair, the ProRodeo presented by Cavender’s brings three nights of thrilling action featuring professional competitors in bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, and more. Rodeo tickets start at just $25, with new reserved seating available for general admission, giving guests the opportunity to lock in their favorite seat before tickets sell out. Guests looking for the ultimate rodeo experience can purchase VIP tickets for $125, which include premium seating, a catered dinner, beverages, and exclusive access to a covered hospitality patio.
