| The deadline to apply for a 2026 Rescuing Texas History Mini-Grant is approaching, and there’s still time to submit. You don’t need a large or famous collection to apply. Some of the most valuable materials we’ve digitized came from a single family, a small-town church, a local club, or one dedicated collector. If your photographs, letters, records, or other materials help tell the story of Texas, they belong on The Portal to Texas History. Each award provides up to $1,000 in digitization services (scanning, describing, and hosting your items) at no cost to you. Once online, your collection becomes freely available to researchers, educators, students, and the public, for good. Take a few minutes to review the application materials and see how your collection could fit. We’d love to help bring it to a wider audience. Deadline: August 7, 2026 Access the application materials here! |
