Chad has sent students to Nationals two years in a row. Help his students make it three by donating today.
Your donation provides immediate support for teachers to participate in Texas History Day and National History Day by offsetting travel costs, providing stipends for judges, supporting dedicated teachers who lead Junior Historians chapters, and helping teachers implement new Texas history standards.
Your support directly impacts classrooms across the state—classrooms like Chad Hannon’s.
Chad is a 7th and 8th grade history teacher in the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District (GCISD). Through National History Day, he gives students the freedom to research whatever genuinely interests them — even topics outside of history — and helps them turn that curiosity into a competitive research project. After years of building the program, he’s now sent students to Nationals in back-to-back years.
Chad Hannon
” I always feel like the students who make it to Texas History Day get hooked on the competition. Students constantly tell me they want to come back next year with stronger projects. It also helps that after years of trying, I’ve had back to back years with a student advancing to the National Competition.”
“To have students compete in a nationwide and prestigious competition is the best feeling you can have as an educator. Especially for middle school students!”
