Two hundred fifty years later, Dallas is invited to celebrate in the gardens. The Saturday rate anchors Independence Day Family Fun Weekend, a three-day program running Friday, July 3, through Sunday, July 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Live music plays on two stages. Country Critters brings the petting zoo to the Pecan Grove. The Garden Chef Series cooks at A Tasteful Place. Historical tours move through the DeGolyer House. And 37 Hunt Slonem installations, the largest outdoor exhibition of the artist’s career, hold the grounds through September 30. “It is America’s 250th birthday, and the Arboretum is celebrating with a family fun weekend,” said Sabina Carr, president and CEO of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. “The celebration includes a $17.76 ticket on the Fourth, three days of programming, Hunt Slonem’s work everywhere you look, and the gardens at their summer best as they show off nature’s fireworks.” The Concert Stage lineup features Alpha Dogs on Friday, Rick Dudley on Saturday, and The Coppertones on Sunday. Jeanne’s Pavilion will host piano performances by Rebecca Cordes on Saturday and Music Starz Studios on Sunday. The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden will run STEM activities throughout the weekend. The $17.76 rate applies to general admission on July 4 only.
