Meghan Potter, technical theatre instructor, was honored with Kilgore College’s Hamilton F. and Kathryn G. Beeson Teaching Award for 2026. She was also KC’s nominee for the Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award.
Established in 1993, the Beeson Award recognizes outstanding teaching excellence and includes a $1,500 stipend for the recipient and an additional $1,500 for instructional materials.
Potter has taught theatre at KC since 2017 and served as technical director for the Texas Shakespeare Festival from 2011 to 2022. She currently serves as the festival’s scenic designer, a position she has held since 2022.
“Meghan exemplifies the dedication, creativity and commitment to student success that define exceptional teaching,” said Donny Seals, vice president of instruction and chief academic officer. “Her impact extends far beyond the classroom through the mentorship, guidance and opportunities she provides students. She is highly deserving of this recognition.”
