UT Tyler-Longview SBDC Offers Specialized Business Assistance Through Industry Experts
Longview, TX – The UT Tyler-Longview Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has expanded its consulting services by partnering with industry experts in government contracting, marketing and social media, restaurant management, and bookkeeping. The initiative was developed in response to common challenges identified by East Texas small business owners. These services are provided to SBDC clients at no cost.
“We recognize that many of our clients need specialized expertise in areas that can have a major impact on business success,” says Day Shelmire, Director of the UT Tyler-Longview SBDC. “By bringing in experts in these fields, we’re able to provide targeted assistance that helps East Texas businesses solve problems, implement proven strategies, and accelerate growth.”
The SBDC’s expert consulting team includes Henry Vinson (government contracting), Wylde Wolfe Creative (marketing and social media), Deagon Williams of Culinary Business Strategy (restaurant operations), and Beancounters of East Texas (bookkeeping and financial management).
“Our SBDC business advisors consistently see clients struggling in these areas,” says Shelmire. “We want to bring in experts who can work one-on-one with small business owners and provide in-depth assistance where it’s needed most.”
The UT Tyler-Longview SBDC is part of a national network of SBA-funded centers that provide advisory services to entrepreneurs and small business owners. Says Shelmire, “There is no cost and no catch to working with the SBDC or our expert consultants. These services are funded by the SBA, the State of Texas and UT Tyler to help small businesses succeed.”
