Texas Veterans Commission Chairwoman Honors Fallen Heroes, Calls for Memorial Day Moment of Remembrance
Austin, TX – Ahead of Memorial Day, the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) is encouraging Texans to pause and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Texas is home to more than 1.5 million veterans and thousands of family members who carry the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Texas Veterans Commission Chairwoman and U.S. Navy Veteran Laura Koerner shared the following message:
“On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we cherish today.
At 3 p.m. on May 25th, I invite Texans to join the National Moment of Remembrance. Take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything in defense of our ideals.
We also remember the families and loved ones who carry that loss every day. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.
Your loved one’s courage lives on in the story of our nation.
Memorial Day reminds us of the true cost of freedom, and the bond that unites us as Americans.
Let us honor the fallen not only in remembrance, but by living out the values they fought to protect,” said Laura Koerner, Texas Veterans Commission Chairwoman and U.S. Navy Veteran.
