The action gets underway Friday with test sessions, where spectators can get a sense of the speed of these vessels, some of which can go from 0 to 100 mph in just over 3 seconds. That evening, festivities include a concert at Lakeside Park and the Show and Shine, which gives racing fans an opportunity to meet the drivers and get an up-close look at the powerboats. On Saturday, the action revs up with the qualifying and heat races.
