This week, we highlight an unfolding story surrounding a star Texas Tech quarterback, the problems caused by gambling addiction, the effect that gambling has on the integrity of sports, and why this saga perfectly demonstrates why Texas should resist predatory-gambling legalization, not lean into it.

Plus, the city of Conroe is learning the hard way that when politicians promise that a massive construction project will “pay for itself”, it almost always results in an increased taxpayer burden instead.

And, in case you missed it, we took a look at the recently released interim charges for both the Texas House and Senate. These are essentially “homework assignments” for the committees from the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House.
