UT Tyler to Host School of Medicine Building Open House
TYLER, Texas (April 20, 2026) – The University of Texas at Tyler will host an open house for the new School of Medicine Building, the physical home of East Texas’ first medical school. The building, located at 1100 S. Beckham Avenue in Tyler, will be open to the public 9 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25. Community members are invited to take a self-guided tour of the state-of-the-art facility and experience firsthand the future of medical education in East Texas.
Construction on the building began in 2023. Built on five acres in the heart of Tyler’s Midtown medical district, this five-story, nearly 250,000 square foot facility also features more than 140,000 square feet of clinical space, where UT Tyler School of Medicine clinical faculty will provide care. The clinical portion includes the UT Health East Texas Advanced Imaging Center, Women’s Health Center, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, Pulmonary Institute and Surgical Center with eight operating rooms.
