Austinites love our city’s natural beauty, found in greenbelts, parks, neighborhood streets, and waterways like Lady Bird Lake. This spring, Keep Austin Beautiful invites every Austinite to demonstrate how to “Love Where You Live” by giving back to the natural, shared spaces that make Austin so beautiful.
Since 1985, Keep Austin Beautiful Day has been an opportunity for people to give back, remove litter, and work with neighbors to keep our city clean and beautiful. This year, on Saturday, April 18, over 3,000 Austinites are anticipated to participate in an incredible, citywide day of service, Keep Austin Beautiful Day, presented by Samsung Austin Semiconductor. From 9:00 to 11:00 AM, committed neighbors, families, and friends will volunteer to beautify their communities by removing litter from streets, creeks, green spaces, and waterways throughout Austin. This collective, single-day effort embodies Austinites’ spirit of loving where we live and giving back all year long.
Over 100 volunteer leaders will host Keep Austin Beautiful Day projects across all 10 City Council Districts in the Greater Austin Area. Activities include on-the-water litter cleanups at Lady Bird Lake using kayaks and canoes, invasive species removals, plantings, and other beautification projects. “Keep Austin Beautiful Day reflects the best of Austin, with neighbors coming together to give back and care for the places we all share,” says Rodney Ahart, CEO of Keep Austin Beautiful. “Through Love ATX: Love Where You Live, we’re spotlighting how small, everyday actions make a big impact. A clean space is the foundation of a beautiful one, and it takes all of us to keep Austin looking its best year-round.”

Founded in 1985, Keep Austin Beautiful is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that inspires and educates all Austinites to volunteer together, beautify green spaces, clean waterways, and reduce waste every day. In 2025, Keep Austin Beautiful empowered over 11,000 volunteers to remove 84 tons of litter from public spaces and taught over 14,000 youth how to recycle, compost, and reduce their waste to inspire them to become the next generation of environmental leaders.
