Steven Spicer, Executive General Manager of Health, Life and Energy at Compare the Market, said preventative lifestyle changes can help reduce risk.

“With heart and vascular disease accounting for such a significant share of U.S. mortality, focusing on cardiovascular health should be a national priority.

“Regular exercise, improved diet, routine health screenings and managing underlying conditions such as diabetes can significantly reduce long-term risk.

“Reviewing health coverage regularly can also help ensure individuals are financially protected if serious illness occurs.”
