Henderson County fatal traffic crash

Henderson County- On March 26, 2026, at approximately 2:06 am, Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a single-vehicle traffic crash on FM 317 west of FM 1803.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Chevrolet pickup was traveling west on FM 317, approaching a left-hand curve at an unsafe speed, when it left the roadway, striking a tree.

The driver, Daniel Rivero, 20 YOA of Athens, Texas, was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger, Jayden Miranda, 19 YOA of Murchison, Texas, was transported to UT Health in Athens, TX, with injuries.
