Building Home Hope

My name is María del Mar and I am writing to share a personal story that may be of possible interest to your readers.
For many years I have been living with severe mental illness, including obsessive-compulsive disorder connected to childhood trauma. In its most severe form, this condition can make everyday life extremely difficult and isolating, sometimes even leaving the house becomes overwhelming.
Out of this experience, I started a small project called Building Home Hope, which aims to create a safe and stable environment where someone living with severe chronic mental illness can have the basic conditions needed for recovery, dignity and stability.
Beyond my personal situation, my hope is that sharing this story can help bring attention to the reality faced by many people living with invisible mental illnesses that are often misunderstood.
