Op-Ed: Proposition 3, What It Means for You!

On the 2026 Republican Primary ballot, voters will see Proposition 3:

“Texas should prohibit denial of healthcare or any medical service based solely on a patient’s vaccination status.”

This matters! No Texan should be turned away from medical care because of a personal medical decision. Healthcare should be about treatment, not punishment. It should be about patient care, not compliance.

Proposition 3 makes a clear statement. Medical access should not depend on whether someone followed a government recommended schedule or declined a particular vaccine. Denying care based solely on vaccination status crosses a line for many families across our state.

This is not about being for or against vaccines. It is about protecting access to care. It is about ensuring that no child, parent, or grandparent is refused medical services because of one medical choice.

As a Republican Primary voter, you have the opportunity to weigh in on this proposition.

Here is what you should know:

• This is a ballot proposition in the Republican Primary

• It expresses voter support for prohibiting denial of healthcare based solely on vaccination status

• Your vote signals where the grassroots stands on medical freedom and patient rights

Texans for Medical Freedom believes that medical decisions belong to individuals and families, not institutions that use access to care as leverage.

If this issue matters to you, make sure you are informed before you head to the polls. Early voting and Election Day are your opportunity to make your voice clear.

Please share this with other voters who care about protecting medical access in Texas.

Fighting for freedom,

Texans for Medical Freedom

Quit writing propositions you have to read standing on your Head. It is still not clear to me how to answer this if I am against denial of healthcare for not following recommended vacs schedule.

Yes I completely agree! The wording is confusing!

Seriously confusing wording on this one. No American citizen should be denied healthcare for any reason. Please fix this because many will likely vote against themselves accidentally.

Should have been worded this way:
Medical services should be provided to every American citizen whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated.
    Yes or No?
