UT Health East Texas Physicians Welcomes Paola Mwenentanda, APRN, FNP-C, to Tyler

Tyler, Texas (February 11, 2026) — UT Health East Texas Physicians is expanding urology services in Tyler with the addition of Paola Mwenentanda, APRN, FNP-C.

Mwenentanda provides patient-centered, evidence-based and compassionate care with a focus on shared decision-making. Her approach emphasizes education, collaboration and trust to support each patient’s health goals.

“I believe it’s important that patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options,” she said. “When patients are informed, they can actively participate in their care.”

Mwenentanda entered healthcare to serve others and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. After spending eight years as a cardiovascular intensive care unit nurse, she pursued a career as a nurse practitioner to expand her clinical knowledge and take a more active role in patient care. “Becoming a nurse practitioner allowed me to provide more comprehensive and patient-focused care,” she said.

Her clinical interests include general urology, men’s and women’s lower urinary tract symptoms, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary tract infections and hematuria. She focuses on patient education, preventive care and long-term management of chronic urologic conditions and provides comprehensive urologic evaluation and follow-up care for adult patients ages 18 and older, helping patients feel comfortable addressing sensitive health concerns and improving quality of life.

Mwenentanda is welcoming patients at 700 Olympic Plaza Circle, Ste. 700, in Tyler. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 903-262-3900.
