| FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 30, 2026) – Sailors from the U.S. Navy’s Littoral Combat ship, USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) will be participating in a day of service by taking time to deliver a lift chair and pantry bag to Meals On Wheels a client in their ship’s namesake city. The crew will make their first stop at the Como Adult Activity Center The crew will interact with all of the attendees and there will be a short talk from the Commander of the ship and introductions of the crew with Q&A session. “A visit from the sailors of the USS Fort Worth will be a welcomed surprise to our clients who often experience social isolation. We serve many clients who are often overlooked,” said Philip Gonzalez, Marketing and Communications Specialist for Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County. “We have teamed up with the sailors from U.S.S. Fort Worth for several years in a row, so we have seen firsthand the sense of pride they feel when serving the local community in Tarrant County.” |
