UT Health East Texas Physicians Welcomes Christina Barreda, MD, to Tyler

Dr. Christina Barreda

Tyler, Texas (December 16, 2025) — UT Health East Texas Physicians is expanding pediatric pulmonary services in Tyler with the addition of Christina Barreda, MD.

“My care philosophy is to provide patient-centered, high-quality and compassionate healthcare,” Dr. Barreda said. “I care for patients from birth through 21 years old, providing personalized, evidence-based care to help each child live life to the fullest.”

Dr. Barreda’s special areas of medical interest include caring for babies, children and adolescents with breathing concerns. She treats respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic lung disease, cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, chronic cough and difficulty breathing due to neuromuscular weakness.

“I was drawn to health care because, while growing up, I witnessed how great medical care can help people achieve their full potential. I also saw how those without access to good care often had a harder time achieving their dreams due to poor health,” she said. “Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a difference, particularly by helping children attain the best possible quality of life.”

Dr. Barreda is welcoming patients at 11937 US Hwy. 271 in Tyler. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 903-877-5271.
