Houston, Texas – Today, American First Conservative Alex Mealer, the Republican frontrunner in Texas’s newly redrawn Ninth Congressional District, joined five other Texas congressional candidates in affected districts to file an amicus brief with the Supreme Court regarding the Texas Redistricting Map Case.
Alex Mealer is a West Point graduate and combat veteran who earned her JD/MBA from Harvard before building her oil & gas finance career in Houston, where she is raising her two young children with her husband Clay, also a West Point graduate and combat veteran. Together, they own and operate an industrial gas distribution and welding supply company focused on servicing customers along the Houston Ship Channel and surrounding area.
“Alexandra Mealer publicly announced her campaign for the newly redrawn
CD-9 on August 25, 2025. The online video she posted announcing her candidacy is
widely available on the internet and has been viewed over 276,000 times. The video
features the endorsement of Houston icon and hometown hero Jim “Mattress Mack”
McIngvale. That video cannot be eliminated from additional voter views on the
internet at this time because it has been reposted and shared by many viewers and
remains in circulation,” as stated in the amicus brief.
“I have never been one to sit on the sidelines. Whether volunteering to defuse bombs in Afghanistan or leading the fight to take back Harris County and secure our elections, when others talk, I act,” Mealer said. “With just days left in the primary filing deadline, any change to the Texas Legislature’s 2025 Congressional map would cause mass voter confusion as well as unfair consequences for voters and candidates,” Mealer said.
