JIM “PAPPY” MOORE: Can We Agree On These?
By Jim “Pappy” Moore
I am going to attempt to set down some thoughts which I hope most of us agree upon. General Principles.
First, we all want a healthy economy, one where young people get paid enough to make a decent living, where they can hope to buy a home by the time they are in their thirties. We also want them to work harder, save more, and understand that getting a house takes time and money.
Second, we want these huge corporations that are running our world to be kept from taking over the boards of a multitude of big companies. Specifically, we oppose the way BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street and other trillion dollar concerns are influencing officials, and subverting the real roles and goals of government regulatory bodies such as the CDC and the FDA. Both of those seem to be working for those industries instead of the best interests of the people.
Third, we want media and social media that is balanced, so that we hear both the official beliefs on topics, and who funds that point of view. We also want to be able to hear and talk freely about the countervailing arguments which the first group may consider wrong, or false, or disinformation, or misinformation, or conspiracy theories. Having the minority viewpoint be safe from silencing or persecution is part of our history, and we need it to continue having a good country. Our recent history has proved that lies have been foisted upon the entire country, such as the campaign to label the Hunter Biden laptop a Russian hoax, a huge lie that we all now know was used to affect the 2020 election.
Fourth, we want America and its needs to come first – above other countries, above citizens of other countries.
Fifth, we want America to be free of interference by the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and other gargantuan world organizations which try to ignore our constitutional rights as American citizens.
Sixth, we want Freedom of Speech guaranteed, and we want Freedom of Religion guaranteed. This means each person can choose their religious beliefs as they see fit, whether Protestant, Catholic, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist, or other. Free speech and free thought much be nurtured.
Seventh, we want our money’s worth from government, and we want government to tax us less, up and down the line – from the nation, to the state, to the county, to the city, to the school district. We want you to take less of our money and we want you to budget better, and to stop spending like your job is to increase your budget every year.
Let us try to see the things we can agree upon, and then focus on achieving those things where we have a decent majority.

Good luck on getting buy-ins. Point 1, the minimum wage in the US is $7.25 and has been for over a decade. And the point on media reporting… everybody seems to consume the news that they like, not what they need. Kind of like doctors advising losing weight or stopping smoking, they have to get used to their patients just ignoring them, I guess. We in the US are divided and principles don’t seem to matter any more.
