TimberHogs’ Castillo-Franco Named MAL “Pitcher of the Year”
Lawrence, KS – The Mid-America League is proud to announce that Wilton Castillo-Franco of the Piney Woods TimberHogs has been voted the league’s “Pitcher of the Year.”
Upon being informed of his award, Castillo-Franco said, “I am super happy for the award. I would like to thank my colleagues and coaches. This is possible thanks to them. I am very grateful to the people who selected me.”
Castilo-Franco amassed a 4-1-1 record in 14 appearances (7 starts) over 62.0 innings with an ERA of .247 while walking 14 and striking out 89 batters. He also threw 1 complete game with 1 shutout!
The 24-year-old resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
