Location: State Highway 114 near Winding Meadows Dr.

 

Vehicle 1: 2007 Yamaha YZF (motorcycle).

Driver 1: Deceased.

Jacoby James Shoemaker, 21 years of age, from Justin, TX.

Pronounced deceased at the scene by the Denton County Medical Examiner.

 

Vehicle 2: 2017 Ford Fiesta.

Driver 2:

Pedro Huerta Jr, 26 years old, from Justin, TX.

Not injured.

 

Passenger:

Myrnamelie Ortiz Malave, 27 years old, from Justin, TX.

Not injured.

 

Description: A preliminary investigation indicated vehicle 2 was stopped at a red traffic light in the westbound lanes. Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed and struck the rear end of vehicle 2. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
