Support First Air Force One

Dear Friend,

As we prepare to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June, I am reminded of the words Dwight Eisenhower wrote to the Allied soldiers, sailors, and airmen in his D-Day address: “The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you.” As Supreme Commander of Operation Overlord in Normandy, France, his decisive leadership in WWII propelled the U.S. to its place as a world leader.

Eisenhower won the 1952 and 1956 U.S. elections by a landslide. His presidential aircraft, Lockheed Constellation 8610, is now undergoing a full restoration on the campus of Dynamic Aviation, a leader in the aerospace industry and the lead restoration partner. This iconic aircraft carried Dwight Eisenhower during the early years of his presidency – it is the first presidential transport to go by the call sign Air Force One.

Dwight Eisenhower’s decisive leadership on D-Day and in World War II propelled the United States to its place as a world leader.
Our objective is to restore First Air Force One to its original glory and make it available to the American people.
I am writing to invite you to consider a contribution to this monumental endeavor. Your investment in this project allows us to leave a legacy to remind future generations of the dignity, freedom, and peace that Eisenhower advocated for throughout his presidency.

Our objective is to restore First Air Force One to its original grandeur and make it available to the American people. Visitors will be able to view the cockpit, walk into President Eisenhower’s office, and capture the feel of his impact on world history. When completed, First Air Force One will allow Americans – particularly youth and students – to connect with this dramatic symbol of our history and increase interest in the aviation industry, Presidential and aviation history, and STEM education.

The post-war era brought the free world out of the darkness of a brutal world war and untold suffering. The United States prioritized maintaining world peace in the face of the communist influence propagated by the Soviet Union’s expanding global influence. The U.S. became a global leader in economic, political, military, cultural, and technological affairs. Much of this was due to President Eisenhower’s wisdom in shepherding our nation, and the world, through a very vulnerable period in global history.

With your help, First Air Force One will help the American public better understand this era of our history and give us hope for a bright future.

In the immortal words of Dwight Eisenhower on the eve of D-Day, June 6, 1944, “We will accept nothing less than full Victory!” On behalf of First Air Force One and the American public, thank you for supporting this extraordinary endeavor.

Sincerely,

Michael A. Stoltzfus
