Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) to Host Fourth Annual Risk It for the Brisket Event in Partnership with Live Gilmer on April 6

As part of the street party, CUTX will host a free concert headlined by country singer and songwriter, Mike Ryan



WHAT:                 Credit Union of Texas (CUTX), in partnership with Live Gilmer, will host a free concert in Downtown Gilmer as a part of the fourth annual Risk it for the Brisket street party. Throughout the free, family-friendly event, attendees will enjoy a BBQ competition sponsored by Outlaw BBQ Association, with a $10,000 jackpot prize, live performances from Texas musicians and a variety of activities, including a kids corner, local vendor fair, ax-throwing, a corn hole tournament and a corn-eating contest.


Live performances include:


  • 1:00 p.m. – Danny Sharpe, a Kilgore, Texas, musician offers a wide variety of tunes in a performance you won’t want to miss.
  • 2:15 p.m. – Derrick McLendonwho was born in East Texas and raised in Central Louisiana, shares music that reflects his Texas heart and Louisiana soul.
  • 4:30 p.m. – Braydon Watts is an electrifying teenage guitar phenom from Cotton Valley, Louisiana.
  • 6:15 p.m. – Grant Gilberraised in Santo, Texas, draws musical inspiration from his grandparents’ Texas swing and fiddle tunes to his dad’s penchant for Springsteen, Petty, and 80s country hits.
  • 8:00 p.m. – Mike Ryana San Antonio, Texas, singer-songwriter has achieved impressive accolades in just under 10 years. He has opened for some of the biggest names in the business, including Miranda Lambert, Hardy and Morgan Wallen, in addition to headlining his own gigs.
