UT Health East Texas Physicians Welcomes Shannon Meador, DO, to Tyler

DR. SHANNON MEADOR

Tyler, Texas (March 28, 2024) — UT Health East Texas is expanding behavioral health services in Tyler with the addition of Shannon Meador, DO. She believes that medication is only one facet of treatment, along with therapy, to improve mental health and overall well-being. Dr. Meador also believes it is important to address the whole person, including physical health, nutrition, family life and spirituality.

Dr. Meador knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a doctor and believes that God gave her that desire. She was drawn to psychiatry and pediatrics during rotations in medical school and appreciated the deeper connections to her patients. She found a common thread in treating adults was a history of childhood trauma. She chose to complete a child and adolescent fellowship to treat patients early on and hopefully help change their life trajectory.

Dr. Meador is seeing patients at 1100 E. Lake St., Ste. 160, in Tyler. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 903-877-7168.
