UT Tyler Charter School in Longview Adds Classes for 2024-25 School Year

TYLER, Texas (March 19, 2024) – The University of Texas at Tyler University Academy-Longview  campus will offer 75 additional openings for the 2024-25 school year. With this expansion, the  campus will add one additional Grade 6 and Grade 7 classroom each and two additional  kindergarten classes.

“We are excited to welcome new students to our Longview University Academy, expanding our  offerings to meet the needs of our Gregg County community,” said Dr. Jo Ann Simmons, UA  superintendent. “This expansion will provide even more students and families with the opportunity  to experience the outstanding education and nurturing environment that the University Academy  has to offer.”

Admissions information and applications are available online at uttua.org/admissions. Although  applications are accepted year-round, the admissions lottery for the 2024-25 school year will be  held Friday, April 5. When a charter school has more students who want to attend than they have  seats available, a lottery system is used to determine their enrollment. Parents are urged to submit  applications for their child by the upcoming lottery date, Simmons added.
