AUSTIN — The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) announced today that registration has opened for the 2024 Texas Emergency Management Conference. The Conference takes place from May 28-31, 2024 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth.

The three-and-a-half day influential event will showcase dozens of beneficial workshops for continuing education, an exhibit hall representing the services of emergency management professionals from across the country, and a variety of networking opportunities with key stakeholders. The Conference concluded with record turnout in 2023.

“This year’s Texas Emergency Management Conference provides a forum to share best practice, exchange ideas, and encourage collaboration among emergency management professionals,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. “Bringing subject matter experts and practitioners at the forefront of emergency management together advances efforts to improve protection of life and property in our state.”

The Conference attracts over 3,500 elected officials, first responders, emergency managers, and decision makers from across the Lone Star State and the United States. The Conference provides jurisdictional leaders an opportunity to see and learn about innovative products and services from numerous organizations in the exhibit hall, which boasts over 180,000 square feet of space.

“The dynamic experiences at the Texas Emergency Management Conference offer an opportunity to further the valuable discussions centered around emergency management in Texas communities,” said Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp. “I look forward to continuing the engaging conversations between TDEM, our System members, and partners from around the nation to enhance the well-being of Texans.”

“I’m eager to welcome the Texas Emergency Management Conference back to Fort Worth this spring,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “Fort Worth is a top destination for many reasons, including our innovative industry, rich history, and engaging economic development opportunities. I am excited to share our community with conference attendees again this year.”
