Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) Will Host Third Annual Chili Cook-Off on March 2 in Celebration of the Gilmer Community

The event will feature live music and competition prizes, and all proceeds will benefit the Upshur County Community Fund

 

WHAT:                 Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) will host its third annual Chili Cook-Off in Downtown Gilmer at Gilmer Town Square. The family-friendly event celebrates the Gilmer community and benefits the Upshur County Community Fund, which provides assistance to organizations that support Upshur County.

  • Tickets: Tickets are available for $10 the day of the event and include all-you-can-eat chili, yard games, and live music from Danny Sharpe.

  • Chili Cook-Off Team Registration: Participants must submit a completed registration form to the Gilmer Area Chamber of Commerce office (106 Buffalo Street) by February 22nd. Registration forms can also be emailed to director@gilmerareachamber.com. There is no fee for team registration.

  • Chili Cook-Off Competition Rules and TimeRegistered teams must cook at least three gallons of chili to serve and are responsible for providing all cooking supplies, ingredients, cookers, tables, canopies, and other necessary equipment.

Check-in will be open from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and judging will begin at 4 p.m. A $1,000 prize will be awarded for Best Chili and additional prizes for Best Booth and Best Game.

                                Open to the public from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
