Ellis County, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking the public for help in locating a vehicle involved in a “Hit and Run” fatality crash. The picture included is a Texas driver’s license photograph of the victim.

On 02/01/24, at approximately 6:46 P.M., Alonzo Burrows Jr, 36, of Ennis, Texas, was walking along FM 1182 when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. Car parts located on scene indicate that the vehicle was silver in color. The make, model, and year of the vehicle are unknown. The vehicle will have front-end damage to the bumper and headlamp. The Texas Department of Public Safety asks anyone with information regarding this traffic crash to contact the Ellis County Highway Patrol Office at (972) 923-6670. Description: Preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Burrows was a pedestrian on FM 1182 east of Ennis, Texas. Vehicle 1 was traveling northeast on FM 1182 when it struck and killed Mr. Burrows. The driver fled the scene. Car parts located on scene indicate that the vehicle was silver in color. The vehicle will have front-end damage to the bumper and headlamp.
