TDLR Safeguards Consumers With Online List of Revoked Licenses

 AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) maintains a list of people whose licenses have been revoked and people who have been issued cease and desist orders because of unlicensed activity.

The Safeguarding Texans list details actions TDLR has taken to safeguard consumers and protect public health and safety. Anyone listed on the Safeguarding Texans page is not authorized to perform, or offer to perform, licensed services in Texas.

The most recent list included these license revocations:

  • A massage establishment license in Lewisville was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $13,875 for two violations of the following: employing an unlicensed individual to perform massage therapy services; allowing an individual to practice massage therapy in the nude or in clothing designed to arouse of gratify the sexual desire of any individual; allowing an employee to engage in sexual contact in the massage establishment.
  • A massage establishment license in Plano was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $10,500 for employing an unlicensed individual to perform massage therapy services; allowing an individual to practice massage therapy in the nude or in clothing designed to arouse of gratify the sexual desire of any individual; allowing an employee to engage in sexual contact in the massage establishment; and failing to provide an initial consultation to each client before the first massage therapy session and obtaining the client’s signature on the consultation document.
  • A massage establishment license in Lewisville was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $2,500 for allowing an employee to engage in sexual contact in the establishment.
  • A massage therapy establishment license in Colleyville was revoked because a sexual offense resulting in a conviction, plea of nolo contendere or guilty, or a grant of deferred adjudication, occurred on the premises of the establishment.
  • A massage therapist license in Houston was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $3,750 for engaging in sexual contact during a session with a client.
  • A massage therapist license in Lewisville was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $3,750 for engaging in sexual contact during a session with a client.
  • A massage therapist license in Kingwood was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $2,500 for engaging in sexual contact during a session with a client.
  • A massage therapist license in Bee Cave was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $5,000 for engaging in sexual contact during a session with a client.
  • A combative sports contestant license in Missouri City was revoked and assessed an administrative penalty of $6,500 for three violations of testing positive for a prohibited substance before a bout.

TDLR also maintains a database of ALL violations that resulted in administrative orders during the past two years – including penalties and license revocations and suspensions.
