Dallas, Texas, Nov. 14–Please join us on Saturday, November 18th for the opening of the USDA People’s Garden at Joppy Mommas Farm. Dr. Phillip Huang, Director of Dallas County Health and Human Services, Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price and Council Member Adam Bazaldua, as well as USDA state representatives Kristy Oates, NRCS State Conservationist, and Kelly Adkins, FSA State Executive Director will be presenting at the ceremony. Joppy Momma’s Farm Founder Kimberly High will also be speaking about the farm’s new plans with their People’s Garden grant from USDA. People’s Gardens engage the community to grow fresh, healthy food and support a resilient local food system, teach people how to garden using sustainable practice, nurture habitat for pollinators and wildlife, and provide greenspace for neighbors to gather and enjoy.
