Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) INCREASE

Effective October 1, 2023 the amount of the Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) appearing on your Etex bill each month will increase as a result of an increase in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) universal service fund contribution factor from 29.2% to 34.5% (0.345). The new FUSC amount is calculated by multiplying the FCC’s universal service contribution factor against your interstate access service charges. The federal universal service fund program is designed to help keep local telephone service rates affordable for all customers, in all areas of the United States.
