TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY – 8.11.2023 Fatality Crash on FM-51 in Wise County

County: Wise.

Location: FM – 51 at FM – 2123.

Posted Speed Limit: 70 MPH.

Road Condition: Dry.

Vehicle 1: 2011 International Box Truck.

Driver: Not injured.

Demond Cortez Nettles. A 50-year-old male from Little Elm, TX.

Vehicle 2: 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Driver: Deceased.

The driver has not been identified.

Description: Preliminary investigation indicates vehicle one was traveling eastbound on FM-2123 crossing the intersection at FM-51, and vehicle two was traveling northbound on FM-51 crossing the intersection at FM-2123, when vehicle 2 struck vehicle one. The driver of vehicle two was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kim Redman. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
